The MDX10 is Massive Dimension's next-generation large-format pellet extruder. Built on the proven MD-Series and redesigned from the ground up, it delivers more capability in a lighter, more compact package — expanding where pellet extrusion can be deployed and lowering the total cost of doing it.
With a 25% reduction in weight, 40% fewer parts, and a simpler architecture, the MDX10 is engineered for broad adoption across industrial robots, collaborative robots, gantry systems, and custom integration platforms. It processes everything from commodity thermoplastics to high-performance engineering polymers, and arrives ready to run.
Pellets cost a fraction of equivalent filament, are available in a vastly wider range of materials — commodity grades, engineering blends, fiber-reinforced compounds, recycled and regrind streams — and enable the throughput rates that make large-format additive economically viable at production scale. The MDX10 is built to put that advantage to work across the widest possible range of platforms and applications.
−25% weight — At 22.5 lbs (10.2 kg), the MDX10 opens deployment on lower-payload cobots and a broader range of gantry configurations, giving integrators more flexibility to optimize system cost around the application.
−40% fewer parts — Simplified architecture means fewer failure points, faster troubleshooting, and shop-floor maintenance without specialized tooling or extended downtime.
−10% power consumption — The upgraded heating system draws less while delivering more consistent melt control, improving bead geometry stability across long production runs.
Improved nozzle clearance — A more compact toolhead enables tighter geometries and higher feature resolution on structural parts, tooling, molds, and end-use components.
Servo-driven precision — Closed-loop material control for consistent bead diameter across extended jobs and repeat runs.
3-zone PID heating to 450°C — Independently controlled zones stabilize melt from commodity PLA through PEEK and PEI (ULTEM).
7 hot-swappable screw configurations — 24:1 L/D with Standard, High Shear, High/Low/No Compression, Thermal Mixer, and High Fill Mixer options to tune for your specific polymer and layer strategy.
Broad software compatibility — Reduces integration effort across ABB, FANUC, KUKA, Stäubli, Universal Robots, and custom gantry platforms.

★★★★★There is a very distinctive design language and quality of construction across all Massive Dimension parts. This combined with the fact that all these components are compatible with each other is a big selling point.

★★★★★We purchased an MDPH2 to convert an already existing industrial filament machine. They came to install it and did a wonderful job. Like most projects of the sort there were some unexpected issues but they made quick work of them and left us with a functioning pellet extruder on a previously filament based machine. Their product is well designed, well made and looks great on our machine!
